Bubba Kush Strain
Bubba Kush Strain lineage is not fully documented, but it’s widely believed to have originated from Afghani strains, possibly from the Mazar-i-Sharif region in northern Afghanistan. Bubba Kush’s strong Indica characteristics—known for producing a sedative, body-heavy effect—support this theory, as many classic Indica strains are Afghani in origin.
The most common story around Bubba Kush’s origin suggests that it was accidentally bred in the 1990s when an OG Kush plant pollinated an unknown Northern Lights-type Indica strain (sometimes referred to as “Bubba”). The “Bubba” strain, thought to be Afghani-based, was cross-pollinated, possibly with an OG Kush, and this combination led to what we now know as Bubba Kush.
Though its exact ancestry might be lost, the strain’s robust, resinous buds and earthy, coffee-like flavors are hallmarks of traditional Afghani genetics, reinforcing the likelihood of its origins in that region.
